Set amidst the lush green countryside of Argolis, in the villages of Elliniko and Krya Vrysi, 18 km from Nafplio, 20 km from Mycenae and 136 km from Athens, lies Sofia’s traditional goat farm. With a 100-year tradition of organically rearing goats of the local breed, the Belba family’s goat farm, which is open to visitors, offers authentic agritourism experiences to guests of all ages.
At Sofia’s goat farm, you’ll take part in the farm’s daily chores, milk the animals, meet the newborn kids, and go for walks with the animals whilst gathering rare local herbs. You’ll explore hidden paths through the forest and experience the family’s authentic rural life. Sofia Belba, the daughter of the family after whom the farm is named, is a graduate of the Department of Animal Production and holds a diploma in cheese-making and dairy science. She possesses the necessary expertise and guides visitors through every stage of the experience.
We believe that the best flavour has a name, a place and a story. That is why:
• We rear exclusively local breeds of goat using organic methods•
Our animals roam freely in the countryside, feeding on local herbs and grasses•
Every product we produce — from cheese to honey and olive oil — is made using traditional methods that respect the raw ingredients•
We don’t just offer experiences — we offer an authentic taste of rural life
We are situated in the heart of Argolis, between the villages of Elliniko and Krya Vrysi — a landscape that alternates between dense forests, natural springs and ancient monuments. Just 18 km from Nafplio and 20 km from Mycenae, our farm is the ideal base from which to explore Argolis in a completely different way.
Every guest who visits our farm leaves with more than just an experience — they leave with a story to tell. For us, hospitality is not a service, it is a way of life. We welcome you just as we have welcomed every visitor for a century — with an open heart, fresh cheese and fragrant bread from the wood-fired oven.
